JKA JKissack ART Jessica Kissack portrait of the artist

Jessica Kissack is a Canadian visual artist and painter based in Hamilton, Ontario

Jessica was raised in a family of creatives. Always encouraged towards any artistic outlet that caught her attention, she is a painter, a pianist, a knitter, a cook, and an amateur baker.

After spending several years focused on a career in bio-medical science, she has returned to the canvas full time.

“My work is about connection: my artistic practice helps me to connect with myself, and the completed painting is for you, the viewer, to connect with yourself.”

She meets the canvas where she’s at mentally and emotionally,  and follows any resulting impulses through intuitive gestural abstraction.

The resulting artwork is a genuine reflection of her internal landscape.

Each painting is an invitation to discern a unique meaning, and to honestly connect with whatever it brings up for you.

It is the artist’s hope that as the process serves her, the painting will serve you.
